Jessie and Joe's day had plenty of blooms and pretty details

Joseph William proposed to an unsuspecting Jessica Hemmings five years after meeting on a night out. “Joe popped the question in Antigua on 28th May, 2015 at Coco's Hotel – it really was a stunning setting!” recalls Jessie.

The big day was set for exactly a year later on Sunday 29th May, 2016, at Wick Farm Barn, Farleigh Hungerford, Somerset. To reflect the venue's rural location, the couple opted for a rustic-chic vibe.

Here, Jessie tells us more about their day...

Wick Farm Barn was completely perfect for the vision we had, it just felt right instantly.

Rustic romance: Image 2aOur favours were Personality Face Mats which clipped on to the guest's nose – a definite ice-breaker!

Rustic romance: Image 2 Our centrepieces were flowers in bronzed glass vases.

The flower displays comprised peonies, sweet peas and various whimsical blooms.

Rustic romance: Image 4aOur cake was a cream and bronze three-tier creation with a floral design. Inspiration taken from our invites with J&J cake topper, the flavours were lemon drizzle, chocolate salted caramel and tiramisu.

The bridesmaids' dresses were an easy choice: Jenny Packham midnight blue gowns, a similar style to my wedding dress.

Rustic romance: Image 6aVenue décor also comprised floral, hanging hearts, plenty of trailing ivy and ample lights hung on the barn beams.

Rustic romance: Image 6 Laura from Strawberry Fields made the whole day run smoothly – it was effortless!

I wore a St Patrick Pronovias Ziu gown. It first caught my eye when I visited the store and it hadn't even been unwrapped – I was dying to be the first to try it on.

Joe and the groomsmen wore Ted Baker dark blue suits and waistcoats with silver ties.

We walked down the aisle to Circle of Life and our first dance was to Seal's Kiss from a Rose.
