An antique pink and dusky rose colour scheme gave a romantic feel to Lyndsey and Daniel's big day
Lyndsey and Daniel met at a bar in Brighton in 2008. “As soon as I walked in, I pointed Daniel out to my friend and said how attractive I thought he was; it was love at first sight!” says Lyndsey. Daniel adds: “When I first saw Lyndsey walk into the bar I couldn't take my eyes off her, I knew straight away she was the girl I wanted to marry.” Later that night, Daniel approached Lyndsey and introduced himself. “We found out we had been living opposite each other for 15 years and didn't even realise it,” says Daniel. The pair met up again the following day at their local pub for a date.
Daniel popped the question while the couple were taking a stroll along Hove beach. “It was a complete surprise. Dan asked for my father's permission a few months beforehand and had even got the whole family involved in choosing the ring, recalls Lyndsey.”

I was four months pregnant when I started trying on dresses, so I had to be decisive. Luckily, when it came to my final fitting after giving birth to our daughter, Darcie, the dress was perfect.
My gown was by Ian Stuart. I instantly fell in love with the design when I saw it displayed in the shop window at Brighton bridal boutique, The Ozone.
I kept my accessories simple as I didn't want to detract from the gown. I wore a pair of pearl studs borrowed from my stepmother and a pretty hair slide which complemented the asymmetrical design of my dress.
As soon as we saw South Lodge Hotel we knew it was the venue for us. It was perfect as it allowed us to have plenty of guests. We both come from large families and wanted to share our day with as many people as possible.
Dan wore grey tails together with a cream brushed silk waist jacket and matching cravat.
I chose pale pink amnesia roses as the main flowers for the bouquets, which also included foliage. The florist knew exactly what I was looking for and the blooms set off the vintage theme perfectly.
I had eight bridesmaids and our daughter Darcie was my flowergirl. I chose the bridesmaids' dresses from a small boutique in Brighton. Their gowns came in a mink shade which suited our vintage theme.
“I had six ushers to match Lyndsey's large number of bridesmaids. They all wore similar outfits to me, although their corsages were slightly smaller.” – Daniel
“John was my best man. We've been friends for many years and he's been there for me through thick and thin. He organised a memorable stag do as well as helping out enormously on the day of our wedding.” – Daniel
I made a goodie bag for each of the 10 children. The bags were filled with games, treats and toys. It worked well and the children really appreciated it; as did their parents!
I walked down the aisle to Songbird by Eva Cassidy and we walked out to Yellow by Coldplay.
We didn't want a traditional fruit cake, so we opted for chocolate. It was a four-tiered design decorated with pale pink roses. Our cake maker, Purita Hyam, worked closely with our florist to ensure the roses on the cake matched the bouquets.
For the wedding breakfast we had a goat's cheese and caramelised onion tart for the starter, lamb with dauphinois potatoes and vegetables for the main course, and chocolate brownie and ice cream for the dessert.
For our favours we had Love Hearts sweets. I put them in a sheer bag along with Haribo heart-shaped jelly sweets. They looked great and provided the perfect cost-effective favour for our 130 guests.
For our evening entertainment we had a six-piece band with two singers. It really set the mood and kept everyone on the dancefloor all night; so much so that some of our guests didn't even realise there was an evening buffet.
Our first dance was to The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. We aren't the best dancers in the world so Dan and I asked my sisters for a little advice!
We went on honeymoon to Las Vegas. It was the first time we had been there and we stayed at the Bellagio for five nights. It was brilliant and lived up to our expectations.
