Eco-friendly stationery for summer brides

Posted by Georgina Cassels on 30 July 2019

Increasingly couples are looking to incorporate natural materials and have eco-friendly celebrations and events. This isn't a passing trend, but is becoming a global movement, with all suppliers recognising the damaging effect of the wanton use of plastic.

A lovely idea for a creative save the date, invitation and/or wedding favour would be a delicate paper rose with your guest’s name tied to it. As well as demonstrating exquisite craftsmanship, roses are timelessly elegant and embody the universal language of love and therefore are ideal for your wedding stationery. As they're made of paper and not a real flower, they're  a sustainable keepsake. We adore the three-dimensional effect the paper rose creates, which will be a key trend for 2019 and 2020 weddings. The paper roses, or any flower of your choice, can also be scented with a summer time scent. A feast for all senses!

For a Summer bride getting married in a marquee, barn or anywhere outdoors, you can use recycled materials, vegetable-based inks, plantable paper products embedded with seeds, cotton items, or even bamboo options for your stationery.

Seed packets are a perfect eco-friendly wedding favour. Your guests can plant these seeds to grow British wild flowers. The favours can be personalised with the couple’s names and wedding date.

At Ananya, we've worked with clients to research ways of protecting stationery when posting that don’t rely on plastic or bubble-wrap products, and we've also found printers to work with that we know share our values of eco-friendly processes and sustainability.

The environment has always been important to us at Ananya, and for many years we've only used cardstock from sustainably managed forests and recycle where possible. We're excited about the way event suppliers have been adapting and innovating to move in this direction. With a concerted effort, we have the chance to reverse negative trends and preserve the health of our global eco system for the benefit of future generations.
