Food is my favourite subject, so when the time comes around to put together our annual catering feature, it’s always a joy. The reason it’s so exciting to write is the sheer wealth of options available across the county, which never ceases to amaze me. When I think of wedding food, I must admit it can trigger thoughts of weddings from back in the day, where we sat down to a depressing meal of bland chicken or bust! But I soon remember, wedding catering isn’t like that anymore... mercifully! While the range of choice might make the process slightly more complicated, it is nevertheless, 100 per cent worth it. So, with the help of local caterers, we’ve put together a guide that ensures all your questions are answered. Now, more so than say 20 or 30 years ago weddings are all about their couples. There are so many more ways to bring about the ultimate in personalisation and nowhere is this truer than in the world of wedding food. Catering companies are led by unbelievably talented chefs who can just as easily whip up your favourite dish as they can serve something from their own delicious menus. What’s more, dietaries aren’t a problem when creative, knowledgeable minds are at the helm. So, the key takeaway here is: don’t be afraid to ask. After all, the age of the foodie is upon us, so find a caterer that suits your tastes allowing you to work with your dream team to create something your guests will be talking about for years to come. This issue, we’re also taking a peek into wedding flower trends. Stunning as ever, our experts’ work certainly made my jaw drop. Also, on the flora and fauna front, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite venues in the county blessed with glorious gardens for you to enjoy while you celebrate. You’ll be spoilt for backdrops to get your photographer’s creative juices flowing and garden games are a must! So, I hope you love this issue as much as I loved putting it together, and as ever... enjoy and keeeep planning!
