After hosting their own wedding on the farm back in 2014, husband-and-wife team Oliver and Laura decided to revamp and re-imagine the original farm buildings to create a stylish and stunning space for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Set in the glorious North Yorkshire countryside, The Normans centres on a south-facing courtyard featuring stylish contemporary design elements. It’s surrounded by a number of 18th-century farm buildings, which have been repurposed for modern-day weddings and their associated revelries! The Ceremony Barn (120 guests) features exposed-brick walls and a high-vaulted ceiling supported by handsome wooden trusses. The floor-to-ceiling curtain of cascading fairylights never fails to make jaws drop, and happens to be the ultimate backdrop for the all-important justmarried photo! Weather permitting, the drinks reception will take place in the Courtyard, but if the heavens open, there are plenty of undercover options including the Stables Bar, cosy Cow Stalls seating area, and Tack Room.
