Your Yorkshire Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 44)

 Yorkshire Wedding Barns was the first and last venue we visited, and we totally fell in love with it; the stunning surroundings showed off Yorkshire at its finest. We loved that there was accommodation for 70 people and we could stay there from Friday to Monday to extend celebrations! For our table plan, we trawled through loads of old photos of every guest and mounted Polaroids of them on a big board so they had to find their face rather than their name. It took ages to do but we’re so glad we persevered as it was a great talking point! As favours, we made clay hearts with everyone’s names on. They worked as place settings, favours and Christmas tree decorations. We both love the Beatles and one of the first places we visited together was the Cavern Club in Liverpool. We spend many nights at home listening to their LPs so we decided to name the tables after our favourite Beatles songs. We wanted the venue to have a warm, wintry, countryside feel to it. My mum and I spent a lot of time at Hutton Flowers discussing ideas, and I opted for a loose bouquet with lots of dark reds and greens. The centrepieces were simple hurricane vases resting on log slices, all dressed with greenery and berries. We were lucky that the venue had a huge Christmas tree, which made a gorgeous backdrop for photos. 33 REAL WEDDINGS
