Q&A Our local pros solve your problems Fashion and Beauty Aire Barcelona SHAPE OF YOU I have a pear-shaped figure. What style of dress do you recommend to show my shape off? This is one of the most common body shapes, and one of our favourites to dress! We love a gorgeous ballgown that cinches in at the waist for true princess style. Look for lots of pretty detail on the bodice to really complement your shape. Another option would be an A-line skirt that gradually flares out from the waist. This is perfect for highlighting a slim mid-section. A deep plunge V-neck or spaghetti straps will showcase your upper body. We generally steer clear of mermaid or floaty gowns for this body shape as it can give an unbalanced look overall. Our team are experts at finding cuts that suit you perfectly. At the moment, we’re loving this gown from Aire Barcelona for our hour-glass girls. A rural manor house is a wonderfully classic setting, so a timeless English rose beauty look would suit it best. Lean towards elegant, natural make-up styles, like soft smokey eyes. Find an eyeshadow colour that not only suits your hair and skin tone, but also brings out the shades in your flowers and venue styling. A rosy cheek colour and neutral lip will keep everything balanced, so nothing is out of place for your beautiful country wedding, and you’ll love your photos for years to come. How was it achieved? I wanted to create a look that embraces my signature style: soft glam. This is how I created each element… ❤ Skin . I illuminated everything! I love skin to look fresh, glowing and flawless, starting with a nourishing moisturiser like Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base. I then layer with my go-to illuminator by Iconic London both under and over the foundation on the high points of the face: cheeks, bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow. ❤ Eyes . I used a combination of soft pink and brown tones and darkened the outer corners to really accentuate the eyes. For brides, I tend to use cluster lashes to create a dramatic bespoke look. For this, I opted for a fluffy strip lash and enhanced it by layering cluster lashes on top. ❤ Lips . Our model has beautifully full-bodied lips naturally, but I accentuated them by slightly over-lining with MAC Spice Lip Liner. I then filled the lips with the pink-toned MAC Crème Cup Lipstick. A touch of gloss brought the look to life. I finished everything with an illuminating setting spray by Cover FX to ensure longevity and a lovely glow – voilà!
