LAST ING Bolton Castle was the epic backdrop for Piers and Lily’s wedding Images courtesy of Drawn by Light Photography  love I t was when Piers worked at Bad Apples bar in Leeds that he and Lily locked eyes across the crowded room. “We never got the opportunity to introduce ourselves,” Lily says. “Thankfully, a couple of days later we spotted each other at an alternative music club. We instantly made a connection because of our similar personalities, values and sense of humour.” From day one they barely spent any time apart, and a year into their relationship Piers decided it was time to pop the question on a trip to Whitby. “He got down on one knee at the top of Whitby Abbey steps, looking out to sea,” Lily remembers. “I said ‘yes’ through happy tears. It wasn’t a complete surprise as he had let slip when he might propose in the early days of our relationship!” The date was soon set for the 13 th July, 2019, at the spectacular Bolton Castle.
