74 Plumping power INSTANT REVIVAL My lips are really thin but I don’t like to wear lipstick. Is there anything non-surgical I can do to give them a bit of extra pout? Deborah says: Yes! Let make-up work its magic. Firstly it’s all in the prep; brush your lips with a dry toothbrush to slough away any dry or flaky bits. Next apply a moisturising lip balm (my personal favourite is Malin + Goetz Lip Moisturiser £10 from Space NK) and straight away you’ll notice that a well moisturised lip always appears fuller. Next apply a concealer all around and all over your lips. Choose a nude and creamy pencil lip liner to resize your lips and draw an outline ever so slightly over your natural lip line – I recommend Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk for this, as a barely-there nude shade it suits all skin tones. Fill in your lips with the liner for a perfect long-lasting base and then apply the magic finishing touch, which is a dab of clear gloss, just to the centre of your lips. The eyes are immediately drawn to the fullest part of your mouth. What advice do you have for hydrating my skin and lips so they’re in good condition? Hayley says: Our skin takes a beating in the winter months from a combination of the cold outdoors and dry indoor central heating conditions. This often leads to dehydrated, flaky and even itchy or scaly skin. I recommend using good quality, rich moisturisers, oils and lip balms and I’d always say that creams are better than lotions. I recommend the Arbonne Intelligence skincare range, which includes everything from moisturiser to skin oils to lip treatments. I simply can’t get enough of the Rejuvenating Cream. Complimentary samples are available by emailing hayley_young@outlook.com. Be aware of ingredients such as mineral oil, petroleum and paraffin. These make the skin feel better to the touch but in reality just sit on top and have no real benefit. If you’re suffering with flaking try exfoliating once or twice a week. Lastly, remember to keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water. By doing so you’ll see a huge improvement in your skin in as little as a week. Hayley Young Make-up artist BLOWN AWAY I have quite wild hair at the best of times but really want to wear it down on the big day. I’m worried that it’ll be totally out of control if it’s windy. Do you have any suggestions? Louise says: If you’re one of the 86 per cent of people that suffer from dry, damaged, frizzy or unruly hair, one of the best solutions is to have a specialist smoothing treatment like a Kebelo. This treatment offers 100 days of completely frizz-free, easy to manage, healthy, shiny, smooth hair which is perfect in the run up to your wedding. You’ll need to work alongside your stylist to choose something that’ll stay in shape and be wind-proof, and so that you feel in control. You could also have professional treatments prior to your big day, which will help with the style you choose. Louise Hunter Hair stylist
