Your Yorkshire Wedding - Jan/Feb 2018 (Issue 28)

42 It’s the fifth and final round of this year’s competition and we have three fantastic weddings, but which one gets your vote to put them through to the final? Round 5 The day As a self-confessed ‘rainbows and unicorns’ girl, the theme was an obvious choice for the pair. Their day was full of personal touches and long-standing family traditions including a homemade movie of the happy couple growing up. They chose their venue based on its location and the promise of excellent and plentiful amounts of food – and they certainly weren’t disappointed! Memorable moments “One stand-out moment would have to be when all the guests were called to the dining room for the wedding breakfast and Sean and I were left waiting to make our entrance. We only had about three minutes on our own but it was such a wonderful moment. I looked at him and said ‘we did it’. I just felt so proud and happy,” says Jessica. The day After a difficult planning process, which included receiving the wrong suits two days before the big day, Lauren and Paul had the wedding of their dreams at Yorkshire’s Middleton Lodge. Surrounded by friends and family from all over the world the pair were delighted to entertain their guests with music from X Factor star Joshua Daniels, who performed their first dance song. Memorable moments “It was so emotional to have the fairytale outdoor ceremony that we’d wanted. We were surrounded by 134 of our family and friends and wouldn’t have changed a thing. Walking down the aisle with my dad was truly special,” says Lauren. Jessica & Sean Lauren & Paul Jessica Thewlis married Sean McCarthy at The Old Lodge on 20 th May, 2017.
