FLOWERS 59 LOOKING YOUR B ST How to look your big-day best W ith so many different styles and themes to choose from, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when planning your big day. To help you create the perfect look, we’ve chosen four popular trends and asked local suppliers for their top tips. MEET WEDDING DRESS EXPERT, JENNIFER JAMIESON FROM AVA MAY BRIDAL 01217 066 060 | www.avamaybridal.com There are so many ways to interpret the word ‘boho’. If you Google the definition, you’ll find descriptions like ‘unconventional’, ‘arty’ and ‘informal’. I love this theme, and when my partner and I got married, I wanted a more chilled out vibe as I’d been married before and had the full traditional white wedding but it never really felt like me. The best advice I can give to any bride-to-be is to follow your heart. My favourite gowns are always the ones that are a bit different, so don’t be afraid to be you! I would opt for burnt oranges and reds and colourful flowers. For the dress, check out our range from Wilderly Bride, they epitomise femininity and honestly are just so beautiful. Boho can be done indoors or outdoors, but I’m a huge fan of a woodland wedding. Think tipis with firepits and dancing under the stars, this can even be done in your garden! Paint the picture of your dream wedding in your h ead and just run with it. It doesn’t h ave to cost a fortune either. Flowers c an be picked from gardens and d ecorations can be homemade. E mbrace the unconventional and rock y our inner goddess! STAR OF THE SHOW MEET MAKE-UP ARTIST, EMILY GROSVENOR 07534 265 219 | www.emilygrosvenor.co.uk The boho look is all about enhancing your natural beauty. A great way to achieve this is by building thin layers of liquid and powder products. Liquid/cream products will create a natural texture, and setting these products with a powder will keep your make-up in place all day. I know ladies with dry skin will be shuddering at the thought of using powder but gone are the days of chalky looking products! I love By Terry’s Hydra-Powder. It’s packed full of hyaluronic acid which will keep your skin fresh. This theme is inspired by nature and the outdoors. One of my favourite products to use for a gorgeous flush on the cheeks is Daniel Sandler’s Watercolour Blushers. Hues to choose from are earthy tones or soft rose petal hues. Pinks have always been one of my most requested bridal looks, as it’s very wearable and exudes femininity. I would also recommend keeping the eyes, cheeks and lips in the same colour family for a harmonised finish.
