Your West Midlands Wedding- August/September 2020 (Issue 69)

REAL WEDDINGS Richard and the groomsmen opted for smart blue check suits. I wore a Millie May Bridal white lace gown from Heavenly Wedding Belles. I accessorised with a lace veil with diamanté droplets around the edge. It was so special and is something I’ll treasure forever. The bridesmaids chose navy chiffon gowns from Dorothy Perkins which complemented the groomsmen’s suits perfectly. Richard and I were extremely nervous and excited on the morning of our nuptials. The weather had been awful in the weeks leading up to our wedding, so we were concerned about people accessing the venue, but the hotel was fantastic and came up with contingency plans, alternative routes and maps for everyone incase the roads were closed. The staff called us every day to keep us updated, which really helped put our minds at ease. Thankfully the roads re-opened on the Friday, so everything went ahead as originally planned. To keep our guests entertained, we had a disco throughout the night. We wanted it to be as relaxed as possible and give our guests the option to listen to their favourite tunes. It was a hit, and everyone had a great time. As the flooding almost impacted our day, we thought it would be great to have some of our wedding photos taken by the River Severn. We put on our wellies and posed by the river, which resulted in some fantastic snaps. The most challenging part was trying to keep my dress clean! 27 
