REAL WEDDINGS 43 TIME TO CELEBRATE For entertainment, the happy couple hired a saxophone player to perform during the wedding reception and whilst the photographs were being taken and guests were enjoying their drinks and canapés. “In the evening we booked Lee from Wedding Sounds who is a DJ which went down a treat with our guests” shares Robyn. “Garnaud chose all of the music which was to be played, and during the evening reception there wasn’t one moment where the dancefloor was empty, we just had a proper party and danced all night. Guests could also enjoy Murphy’s Magic Mirror in the evening which was a full-length mirror that took photographs with props and had instant print outs of the image. We also had a personalised Snapchat filter for our day that guests could use if they wished.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS Robyn reveals she felt absolutely fine all morning when getting ready in the bridal suite, but the nerves kicked in when one of her bridesmaids said they could see Garnaud was outside at the end of the aisle waiting, “She also said he looked ‘rather dashing’,” smiles Robyn. “As soon as I walked down the aisle and saw him waiting for me with his huge smile my nerves instantly disappeared.” Garnaud too felt quite calm when he was waiting for Robyn, but when she walked towards him with her dad, and Garnaud heard their song he started to well up, “It hit him that he was about to get married and he said I looked really beautiful,” shares Robyn. “Once the speeches we’re over I felt like the whole atmosphere of the day changed, we both started to relax and let our hair down and then the proper party started and we all had the best time dancing, drinking and laughing the night away with all of our nearest and dearest.” For Robyn, a stand-out part of the day was the couple’s first dance, “It was such a special part of the day for me and I loved how all our guests stood around the dancefloor and joined in singing at the top of their voices.” Garnaud’s speech was also something Robyn adored, “He isn’t one for lots of words and what he said about me in front of all our wedding guests really touched me and I felt so special. The father-of-the- bride’s speech is one I’m sure none of our wedding guests will forget in a hurry, we definitely won’t that’s for sure! It was laugh after laugh after laugh, everybody was proper belly laughing at some of the things my dad said.” A funny anecdote from the day was a guest arranging for the ex-Stoke City striker Ricardo Fuller to FaceTime the couples in the evening to send his congratulations and well wishes. “As so many of our friends/family are Stoke City fans most people joined in singing to Ricardo on the phone as if we were at the Britannia Stadium on match day and it was such a surreal feeling, I loved it so much!”
