Your West Midlands Wedding- April/May 2020 (Issue 67)

DESIGNER LOOK I really want a showstopping bouquet for my autumn wedding day. What blooms do you suggest?  Danielle says: No matter your overall wedding theme, autumn and winter floral decorations have come in to their own in recent years, no longer over-shadowed by the popular summer nuptials! Enhance a rustic wedding day with a wild- looking bouquet of textured grasses, or wildflowers that look straight out of a field. Soft, muted hues will never lead you astray either, no matter the time of year, but don’t be afraid to branch out of the typical autumnal palette: bright red, orange, and yellow blooms all make for major head-turners, and you can even pare them down with greenery and pastels for a sleek seasonal contrast. Whatever design you opted for, big and over- flowing, or structured and demure top off the look with a piece of velvet ribbon − perfecto! Consider: anemone, aster, astilbe, carnation, chocolate cosmos, dahlia, delphinium, freesia, gypsophila, hydrangea, lilies, lisianthus, orchids, ranunculus and roses, asiatic lily, celosia, orange gerbera, purple alstroemeria, calla lily, chrysanthemum, disbud, leucadendron. Anna says: We definitely suggest that you make it your own and make a statement with your table plan! It’s a chance to do something different and yet keep it really personal within your wedding. First pick your theme, for example it could be travel places you and your partner have visited or want to go; time perhaps significant dates/years in your relationship; hobbies sports or games that you enjoy together, for example Monopoly or Lego, there’s also films such as Disney or you could even go with a food-themed table plan. Next choose your style; hand-drawn, frames, Polaroid pictures, plants, acrylic signs, chalkboards there are so many options on items to represent each table. Finally decide how you are going to display it; hanging from a copper archway, with a board on an easel, on a stack of vintage apple crates… we’ve seen everything from periodic element tables to walls of succulent plants for table plans. Just completely make it your own and don’t be afraid to let your personalities shine through!  Anna Jeffs, owner and chief stylist  Pastiche Events hello@pasticheevents.co.uk | pasticheevents.co.uk mezomarketing.com mezomarketing.com mezomarketing.com EXPERT ADVICE 89
