Your West Midlands Wedding- April/May 2020 (Issue 67)

63 PHOTOGRAPHY VICTORIA AMROSE PHOTOGRAPHY Victoria Amrose says... What inspired you to become a wedding photographer? Ok, I’ll admit to being a real girly girl when it comes to weddings. I’ve photographed in excess of 100 weddings now, but the buzz never goes away. I get so excited to see what style of dress, type of flowers and kind of shoes you have chosen. But quite simply it’s the best job in the world, as for me, I get to combine my love for photography with one of the happiest days in your lives. Capturing those memories is a pleasure – I feel so lucky! What’s your favourite West Mids location/venue to shoot at, why? Ooooh this is hard, but for me I love to shoot at venues that are in keeping with my fine art style of photography, so I love historic and classical venues like Iscoyd Park and Netley Hall. Within each there is an abundance of beautiful and decadent rooms to photograph in and large open spaces outside. I also love The Mill Barns in Alveley, Bridgnorth as it’s filled with natural light because of the floor-to- ceiling windows and it has a neutral colour palette, so will fit in well with any colour scheme and theme. What’s your favourite part of the job? Although I love to capture the natural storytelling moments that occur throughout your day, for me it has to be photographing the couple portraits. I love to capture beautiful fine art style portraiture which has a timeless feel. Something you would be proud to put on your wall. Also it’s a time for you both to spend some moments together away from your guests and take in the day. What are your top tips for nearlyweds? Make sure you meet with your chosen photographer before you book them, you want to feel comfortable and at ease in their presence – this will translate through your photos. Organisation and planning is key. Make sure your photographer has a list of your required group photographs ahead of the big day and that you leave enough time for your couple portraiture on the day, the right professional will be able to get a very good selection of photographs for you within 30 minutes at the most! 01939 261 520 | victoriaamrose.co.uk SAMANTHA JAYNE PHOTOGRAPHY Samantha Jayne says... What inspired you to become a wedding photographer? For me photography is all about the emotion and capturing the moments that matter. What better place to do that than at a wedding! Every wedding is unique and beautiful, that my clients to trust me to preserve those moments is a truly wonderful honour! What’s your favourite West Mids location/venue to shoot at, why? This is a tricky one! One of my faves has to be The Boat House at Aston Marina. This venue is truly a blank canvas, the grounds are stunning with so many different spots for awesome photos. Plus the staff are all amazing and go out of their way to look after their guests. They know me so well that as soon as I arrive there is a pot of tea waiting for me!  What’s your favourite part of the job? Cake. No seriously, for me it’s capturing people’s memories and telling the story of their day. From bridal prep right through until late in the evening... although I do have a cake addiction too! It’s always fantastic to hear how much a couple loves their photos once I’ve delivered them. I thrive on the feedback and look for any way to improve if I can. What are you top tips for nearlyweds? Unplug: In this digital age it’s so very sad to me to be capturing such beautiful moments during the ceremony but seeing that everyone else is viewing it from behind a screen! Trust in your professional to capture these moments and make sure your guests are in the moment with you instead! Bespoke: Try to incorporate as much of your personalities into the day as possible. Speeches: Have your speeches before the wedding breakfast so that everyone can enjoy the meal and relax.  Relax: The day goes by so very fast and before you know it it’s all over! Take some time in the day to just go off on your own together and take it all in.  07533 512 224 | samanthajaynephoto.co.uk 
