Your West Midlands Wedding - Dec/Jan 2019 (Issue 65)

59 LOCAL INSPIRATION O rganised by renowned local photographer, Timothy James Photography, these pictures are the epitome of romance. Timothy says, “This photo shoot is inspired by the rawness and innate beauty of wilderness weddings, in this case celebrating the vast rolling countryside of our region. It touches upon the trend of abandoning typical wedding venues to find locations that are off the beaten track: personal yet intense and wild. With this being a double bride shoot I wanted to approach it in such a way that it would feel bold and impressive whilst capturing the intimacy and fragility of the couple at the heart of the scene. The original idea drew from the thought of a quiet ceremony taking place amidst the vastness of a dramatic John Constable painting: translated into an editorial photographic style. “All elements of the shoot were considered to echo this sensory experience of the landscape. The weather and the lighting were perfect on the day: the mix of warm golden-hour light and dark looming clouds really captured that essence of the moody English landscape. “A striking element of the shoot is the owls we incorporated into the concept. This was something I was always keen to feature. The strength and support owls show each other, the beauty of their feather patterns and the juxtaposition of their piercing gaze yet tiny stature all act as fitting metaphors for the intensity yet elegance of the brides’ companionship. It also embeds the feeling of the brides belonging to the landscape we find them in.”  Get lost in these beautiful images Images courtesy of Timothy James Photography Raw and rural Romance
