82 EXPERT ADVICE I want my hair as healthy as possible for my wedding but it’s not in the best condition. What can I do to bring back my shiny and healthy hair? Heather says: We’ve all dreamt of having luscious locks but it’s hard to create the style or colours we desire without using heat or bleaching products. Heat and bleach can dry your hair causing breakage and dullness. During the build-up to your wedding, I recommend having a break from the straighteners or hairdryers and start using deep conditioning masks and treatments to keep your hair moisturised. It’s best to stay on top of your hairdressing appointments to get rid of any straggly ends. What helps create healthy hair is having a good diet and staying hydrated. Foods such as fish, vegetables and beans will give your hair a healthy shine while the right vitamins, protein and iron in your diet will make your hair grow faster.  Heather Victoria | Heather Victoria Hair and Make-up | 07528 196 804 For our big day in winter, I want to wear eye make-up but I’m worried my eyes will become watery and get ruined from the harsh cold winds. What can I do to avoid this happening? Maria says: My number one way to prevent eye make-up from smudging in the cold winter months is by applying an eyeshadow primer. This miracle lightweight creamy product should be used as a base layer to prepare eyelids for the eyeshadow application. It’s usually a neutral colour or invisible on the skin which creates a barrier and seals the oils of your skin away from the eyeshadow. This will ensure long-lasting wear and provides protection against creasing and fading of your make-up. It can also help to make eyeshadow easier to blend – a huge bonus if you ask me! Simply apply your powder or cream-based eyeshadow on top, follow with a slick of waterproof mascara, a spritz of setting spray and voila, budge-proof eye make-up to survive anything mother nature has in store.  Maria Knight | Sprinkle Magic |  sprinklemagicmua.co.uk I want beautiful glowy skin for my wedding day but I’m worried about the cold weather making my skin dry and flaky. What would you suggest I do? Leanne says: One of the most important things is making sure your skin is properly prepared for the make-up application. I recommend keeping with your normal skincare routine but adding in a few hydrating masks or serums in the last few weeks leading up to your big day. A hydrating primer such as Bobbi Brown Face Base or MAC Prep & Prime will create a glowing natural base. If you want an extra glow try mixing an illuminator in with your foundation, or if you are concerned about losing coverage then add it as a step between primer and foundation. I use MAC Strobe Cream on all of my brides, if you have a pink undertone you should go for shade PinkLite and if you have a warm undertone I recommend GoldLite. Finish your look off with plenty of setting spray, this will keep your make-up looking fresh all day and stop the skin looking dry.
