REAL WEDDINGS 39  the look off. Daniel and the rest of the groomsmen rocked matching suits from Slaters, which had them all looking dapper. Accompanying the bride down the aisle was her three bridesmaids that included two little ones to share that special moment while wearing beautiful ivory John Rocha and Isla dresses. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Throughout the day Daniel was hit with nerves about making his speech but Katie felt relaxed and excited to say ‘I do’ and finally be married to Daniel after all the planning. “The actual ceremony and saying the vows was a moment that we both will never forget,” Katie comments. “Also when the best man announced us into the meal as husband and wife for the first time.” The couple recall how the best man’s speech also filled the room with laughter. “Dan had told him such embarrassing stories that had happened over time, which were then repeated to all our guests!” A nice touch was when the photographer played a slideshow with photos from the day allowing the guests to relive those special moments again. For the honeymoon, the couple set off for a incredible trip to America starting in San Francisco for four nights. “We then flew on to Chicago which had more of the city-vibe and we even managed to squeeze in a day trip to Milwaukee,” she says. The next stop was Washington for the final two nights of the trip. “This had more of a historical element to it with all the monuments. It was the best holiday we’ve ever been on and it was made more special due to what it represented,” she says. TOP TIP After experiencing the whole process, Katie shares her top tip when it comes to planning the big day. “Try not to be influenced or swayed by what other people want. As soon as you start planning a wedding everyone has an opinion on what you should be doing but you need to stay true to yourselves as a couple as it’s a celebration of you both.”
