Based one mile outside the stunning cathedral city of Lichfield, the DIY venue allows lovebirds to work towards their own budget and ideas. The venue gives a completely individual bespoke wedding experience for private use with a rustic yet modern interior with a bar, festoon lighting, a separate ceremony barn and a luxury bridal room. There’s even a tractor or horses that could be provided if desired. The barn offers three-day hire which gives nearlyweds time to decorate the venue and they offer a coordinator who provides a personal, supportive and friendly service. The main barn can easily hold up to 150 seated guests in the day with 200 guests in the evening, it lends itself to smaller more intimate weddings as well.  The adjoining ceremony barn can be hired with the main barn for a ceremony conducted by a celebrant. The room seats 100 guests and allows the option to decorate however desired. A converted barn can be offered for accommodation on-site, and couples can hire independent caterers. Outside there’s a large seating area with benches that can be used in any way, may this be just enjoying the scenery, relaxing by firepits, entertaining guests with games or a band. There’s even a field for camping or glamping, a truly great multitasking space. The venue does not have a wedding licence but offers a recommended celebrant or allows the nearlyweds hire of their own. The atmospheric new Guesten Hall is beneath a fourteenth-century, Grade II listed roof that was originally on the Worcester Cathedral’s reception hall for guests, boasting stunning detailed Medieval carpentry. After the ceremony guests can enjoy the museum’s extensive grounds and gardens with many historic buildings. With a collection of more than 30 restored and re-erected buildings of architectural, social and historic interest that’s coupled with the museum’s character-filled grounds. Blessings can be performed in the Mission Church which is a Victorian tin chapel rescued from Bringsty, Herefordshire and now rebuilt in the museum grounds. Couples get to share their special day with 120 loved ones for the wedding breakfast and 180 for the reception. If the lovebirds wish for some additional space or a smaller reception venue, the Long Room is available for hire and additionally, the Edwardian Tea Room which is available to hire outside of museum opening hours and provides a calm and relaxing space for guests who may wish to take a break from the party, with a member of staff to serve guests.
