Your West Midlands Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 62)

All groomsmen wore Marc D’Arcy blue/grey tweed three-piece suits with vintage pocket watches from Greenwich market. The groom had different colour Happy Socks. I wore a Stella York wedding dress with a custom-made head chain, my nan’s pearl earrings and blue SJP shoes. We wanted something totally relaxed and a twist on traditional English favourites so we chose a mixed starter of prawns, salmon, charcuterie and rustic bread served on apple crates, pie and mash for main, and crumble and ice cream for pudding. The flowers were blue, white and pale pink, and the florist pinned brooches from all generations of women in our families into my bouquet – my nan, James’ grandmas’ and both mums’ were included. All of our guests arrived on a vintage big red bus – we miss England! Other decoration comprised a hand-painted pallet by Charlotte’s dad, upcycled barrels, watering cans and wheelbarrows of flowers, lanterns and candles from Abu Dhabi, a photo booth, light-up LOVE letters, gold flower hoops, vintage suitcases and a donut wall.
