Your Surrey Wedding- Page number 38 - June/July 2021 (Issue 89)

We both love the area around Denbies Wine Estate and have spent many hours walking, running and cycling nearby. We’re also big fans of their wine and the Surrey Hills Brewery next door and loved the idea of introducing our friends and family to the area. The venue’s wedding planner, Dawn, was an absolute superstar and nothing was too much trouble for her. Her expertise and honest suggestions saved us a great deal of stress. There is a beautiful fountain in the middle of the conservatory at Denbies Wine Estate, and we wanted to make a feature of it. The venue already had loads of fairylights strung around the glass roof which looked amazing against the night sky. We gave Flowers by Elaine free reign over our flowers and only asked that they be appropriate for our winter wedding. We were thrilled with the long lines of ivy intertwined with fairylights, it looked absolutely amazing, and I cried when she brought them in. The cake was expertly created by my mum and was carefully transported all the way from Lancashire without any disasters! It was huge and tasted delicious. The long tables were laid out in a large square with guests sat on both sides. It helped create a wonderful feasting atmosphere and really brought everyone together. We named the tables after places we’ve lived together, and the table plan was beautifully hand-drawn by our friend Tiffy. The team at Denbies Wine Estate were fantastic, and we enjoyed a lovely afternoon in October tasting the menu options and trying the wine. We were keen to use as many local and seasonal dishes as possible, and we were very happy with our final choices. 38
