Sadly the pandemic hit, so we’re still waiting to g o on our honeymoon, but we’re hoping to go to the Maldive s next year. A friend performed our blessing, and even though I wrote a script, he added in some personal additions, which were hilarious and got the guests laughing. I discussed with my photographer, irockvisuals, what I wanted before the day, and he was on top of everything. He reminded us of what we wanted when we got carried away talking to guests and didn’t know what the time was! We were just about to leave for the venue when my dress got caught in the balcony door and wouldn’t re-open! Panic set in pretty quickly, but my friend was the best and managed to keep me calm. She called Tara and told him I m ay be delayed as I was trapped but not to worry as we’d be along shortly! After lots of re- gigging the door, about 15 minutes later, we managed to break me free and most impo rtantly my dress was unharmed! On the morning of the blessing, I felt nervous, excited and happy. The jokes and heckling during the service put us at ease, and the fact everyone had such an amazing time and appreciated that the décor wasn’t your usual bright colours. We had the best DJ in town and quite a few people were asking about him after the blessing. DJ Kobbie played a variety of music and customised the set list to fit in our requests and was a massive hit with all our guests.
