What do you suggest we look for? When attending a winter wedding, regardless of the weather, flowery hats and fascinators made from light straw simply won’t do. Opt for a hat that’s made from heavier fabrics such as luxurious wool, fur felts, silky velvets or shimmering sequins. Headwear encrusted with shimmering jewellery is also very on-trend. The range of colours you can choose from is limitless – from understated blacks, blues and greys to vibrant burgundy, emerald green, mustard yellow, red, sapphire and regal purples. White wool and fur felt look especially beautiful this time of year. Try and match your hat hue with your shoes to create a coherent look. Fascinators trimmed with pheasant feathers are perfect for winter weddings. When it comes to shape, I’d suggest pillboxes, teardrop hats and perchers, although tall velvet headbands are also an on-trend choice.
