Your Surrey Wedding- June/July 2020 (Issue 83)

Once I’d walked down the aisle, the registrar said to my dad ‘John do you give your daughter away today?’ he paused and said ‘I’m not sure’. To which everyone was shocked, and the registrar giggled – typical of my dad! We had visions of men in bow ties with lots of Christmas glamour, so we hired an amazing swing singer. Straight after the ceremony, he stood on the stairs and sang, and everyone commented on how lovely he was. He even got everyone dancing during dinner! We had a harp play during the ceremony. It was truly beautiful and added that romantic touch we wanted. The groomsmen chose navy suits with white shirts and green bow ties made from a spare bridesmaid’s dress. To make him stand out, Simon’s suit had checked stitching, and he opted for an ivory bow tie instead. I wore a gorgeous Ella Rosa design called Kitty from Bride by Aster. I accessorised with an ivory bolero and a floor-length lace cape in the evening. The bridesmaids’ gowns were mint green floor-length designs from Debenhams. REAL WEDDINGS 53 
