T H E O N E F O R M E Kirsty and Jose celebrated their big day surrounded by friends and family Images courtesy of Nikki van der Molen Photography K irsty and Jose met 15 years ago at a pub quiz. “We used to regularly attend quiz nights,” says Jose. “On one occasion, we were set up by one of our friends and the quizmaster. It was a slow burner, and although we have slightly different personalities, we always felt comfortable in each other’s presence.” Jose popped the question after 14 years together. “In May 2018, I decided to cook Kirsty a special breakfast for her birthday and ask her to marry me,” shares the groom. “Unfortunately, due to an untimely visit by one of our friends, we ran out of time. So I decided I would do it the next day. I cooked her breakfast, and as it was a lovely sunny morning, we ate in the garden. I handed her an envelope and inside was a card and letter asking her to marry me. Alongside this, I gave her a Haribo ring so she would have something to wear until we picked her perfect ring.” Here he shares some of his favourite moments from their big day... 61  REAL WEDDINGS
