Your Surrey Wedding - October/November 2019 (Issue 79)
Our cake was a simple two-tier design, with a chocolate and lemon filling. We wanted to use rose gold lanterns with naked flames for our centrepieces. Most of the venues we spoke to wouldn’t allow an open flame, so when Hartsfield Manor agreed, we were over the moon. Our wonderful florist made wreaths that fit perfectly around the lanterns. We had ‘love’ letters decorating the grand staircase. We hired a flower wall from CJ’s Party Hire Wedding & Event Specialists. We had torrential rain all day, which meant we couldn’t take any photographs outside. Luckily for us, the wall created the perfect backdrop. Once we’d decided on a pink and white colour scheme, we began choosing flowers. We opted for gypsophila and roses that we used to decorate the tables and my bouquet. Damien turned into a bit of a diva when we were looking for a venue. We’d viewed four, but he found a fault with them all. We hadn’t heard of Hartsfield Manor until Damien attended a speed awareness course there. He phoned me straight away to say he’d found the perfect property. 56
