REAL WEDDINGS 49 X C harlotte and Mackenzie met through their love of motorsport. “We both started competing from a young age,” says Charlotte. “We would often be at the same events but never actually spoke until 2012, when we started working at Mercedes-Benz World. I decided to invite Mackenzie and some mutual friends racing for my 21 st birthday. We hit it off right away, and the rest is history.” Mackenzie popped the question during a holiday to Mallorca in 2018. “We were visiting a friend’s house with my parents,” shares the bride. “It’s my favourite place in the world, and I was so shocked when he asked me to marry him.” SETTING THE SCENE “I’ve always loved history and had visited Hampton Court Palace a few years previously,” explains Charlotte. “At the time, I’d called my father and told him I’d found my dream wedding venue. She made it all come together, and it looked really impressive.” The couple purchased their cake from Bespoke Bakes by Danielle. “It was five tiers,” says Charlotte. “We opted for a variety of flavours, including vanilla, strawberry, champagne, coconut, red velvet, chocolate and lime.” Mackenzie decided to make their invitations and table names. “Away from racing he runs a digital marketing agency,” Charlotte explains. “He did a great job and even made our own emblem.” Charlotte hired a Rolls-Royce 1952 Silver Cloud from Classic Wedding Cars to transport her to the venue. “It was perfect and looked stunning in our pictures,” shares the bride. “Mackenzie drove in himself in a Mercedes-AMG S63.” DRESSED TO IMPRESS Charlotte chose a Morilee gown called Lori from Confetti & Lace. “I didn’t like it on the hanger, but my mum chose it, so I decided to try it on,” shares Charlotte. “The moment I did, I knew it was the one. I accessorised with a cathedral-length veil and Christian Louboutin shoes that my godmother,
