more silhouettes. The finishing touch to any formal look is the accessories – will you have your bridesmaids wear their own jewellery or will you gift them matching pieces? Or will you strip it back and have them go bare, with just earrings so their dresses shine bright? GROOMSMEN Next up, we have the groomsmen. Often overlooked as simply suits, but much more thought goes into it than you realise. Will the groomsmen be exactly the same as the groom, or will you have the groom stand out? It could be a case of the groom wearing a different fabric and the groomsmen match in style but change the texture. One of the biggest question is to tuxedo or not? If your wedding is a formal affair, than a tuxedo is a natural choice and would perfectly highlight the nature of your event. If you don’t want such a formal look then a regular suit will be absolutely fine. This can be adjusted to the season; in the summer swap it out for linen material and in the winter reach for a bold velvet. These styles can then be altered to create a more feature look or relaxed – if you want the groom to stand out, the groomsmen can ditch the vest and let the groom finish his look with a luxurious waistcoat. Accessories for groomsmen differ from bridesmaids and will certainly lean more on the matching style. Pocket squares and ties are an easy accessory to implement and very quickly highlight which men are in the bridal party and who aren’t. Some parties are now deciding to ditch the squares and bring in pocket posies – designed to stretch across the length of the breast pocket, these stylish additions show off the flower arrangements and create a more substantial look for the groomsmen. PARENTS OF THE HAPPY COUPLE Whilst they may not be in the same outfits as the rest fo the bridal party, they do deserve to feel special. The mothers of the couple may adorn themselves with fascinators or some sort of headwear. Not only does this elevate their look but it also shows to other guests that they mean business. The dresses may lean more on the luxurious side, featuring elegant silks, jacquards, and heavy cottons – super chic and timeless. The mothers may also reach for statement jewellery and brooches to show their commitment to the day. Fathers of the couple will likely go for a suit that’s similar to those of the groomsmen – perhaps without the matching ties and pocket squares. If the parents of both sides can coordinate their outfits, then the message “If your wedding is a formal affair, then a tuxedo is a natural choice and would perfectly highlight the nature of your event. If you don’t want such a formal look then a regular suit will be absolutely fine.
