Neither of us wanted a big we dding, so when it came to guest list restrictions, it didn’t impact our plans much. We were just thrilled it could go ahead. Alexander House has a superb wedding menu called: To Have and To Hold. All the options were amazing and it was hard to choose. In the end we opted for a terrine of ham hock for starter, leg of lamb wellington for main and warm Sussex apple cake for dessert. Have the day you want, not the one you feel you’re supposed to have. Hold it where you want, eat what you want, wear what you want, have the cake or don’t have the cake… it’s your day and the two of you are all that matter. Having a small wedding allowed us to spend more on the things that mattered to us, like the delicious menu, quirky dress, beautiful personalised wedding ring and a stunning overnight stay at the hotel. We’ve been able to have our dream wedding without getting into debt, which has meant we’ve been able to buy our new home and start our married life together. 44
