Your Sussex Wedding - February / March 2021 (Issue 89)

TILGATE PARK 01293 438 437 | www.tilgateparkweddings.co.uk What makes Tilgate Park special is its rural bliss of more than 200 acres acting as a spectacular natural backdrop to your big day. This fantastically novel venue is available all year round, allowing you to make unforgettable memories on the Peace Garden bridge, in the pinetum, ancient woodlands and by the lakes. Something new is just around the corner at every change of season from vibrant azaleas to a natural bed of fallen autumn leaves and frost crystals forming on winter leaves. There’s also a golf course on site, while adrenaline seekers will enjoy tree top adventures and forest segways provided by Go Ape. Exchange your vows in the Wedding Garden witnessed by 100 of your loved ones. This beautiful spot has lawns either side of the aisle with flower borders and a licensed wooden arbour. The Barn is the indoor alternative, which can hold 100 seated and 150 standing. Receptions are hosted in the Arena for 200 guests. This is a large events space with the Walled Garden big enough for a large marquee and additional entertainment. There’s also the option to stay in The Barn with 100 for the wedding breakfast and 150 for the evening. There’s also an additional enclosed garden with the possibility to extend the space with a marquee. There’s an array of catering options onsite: book a spit roast from The Walled Garden Café, an American-themed meal form Smith and Western restaurant, or there’s the new Lakeside Café, which specialises in an extensive vegan menu. On the other hand, you’re welcome to enlist the services of your own caterer. PEELINGS MANOR BARNS 07933 092 102 www.peelingsmanorbarns.wixsite.com/peelingsmanorbarns Peelings Manor Barns is the ideal DIY venue, offering a perfect blank canvas for wedding receptions. The manor of Peeling is mentioned in the Domesday Book, but there’s been a settlement on the site since Anglo-Saxon times. The earliest surviving part of the manor house dates from the late 15th-century, and the farm buildings from the 1850s. Located in Hankham, just outside Eastbourne, the space includes the stunning, Grade II listed, traditional Sussex flint barn, barnyard, cloisters, and access to a site at the back of the barn should you wish to extend the space with a marquee. You won’t be tied to any preferred suppliers and services, so you’re able to shape your own personal vision of your big day with freedom of choice. Receptions take place in the Flint Barn, which has capacity for 100 guests for a sit-down wedding breakfast, and 200 across the whole venue for the evening.
