Your Sussex Wedding - December 2020/Janaury 2021 (Issue 88)

Our big-day bake was a three-tier rainbow cake, celebrating LGBT pride, with ivory icing, finished with flowers. Our centrepieces were Martini glasses filled with flowers reflecting our blush and ivory colour palette. They were sat atop mirrors and surrounded by scatter crystals. Rainbow flags lay on the guests’ chairs to be used following the “I dos.” To say we were feeling nervous would be an understatement! Worrying about whether everything is set up right, what if the weather doesn’t play along, will the guests turn up, have you’ve forgotten anything, where are the rings – it all faded away when we finally got to stand side by side at the end of the aisle. Southdowns Manor ticked all the boxes for us and the honeymoon suite… oh my! Set in the most beautiful countryside and away from the hustle and bustle it seemed like the perfect fit for an extraordinary day. The ceremony was the main event. Nothing will ever come close to the soft sound of those words that carry so much weight and the glistening of eyes as rings were exchanged and two families became one. 46
