Your Sussex Wedding - December 2020/Janaury 2021 (Issue 88)

We opted for a barbecue feast during the day, and for dessert we hired an ice cream van that served a selection of retro-style lollies and ice creams. The evening food was pizza from the amazing Mobile Pizzeria, served straight out of their Land Rover. The bouquets were sensational! They featured plenty of bright, colourful wild flowers in pink, blue and yellow with lots of foliage. I arrived at the venue in a 1966 Ford Mustang convertible. It was my wedding gift to Joe, and was a self-drive hire so both he and my dad were able to drive it. I wore the beautiful Carter by Lovers Society; a full lace dress with Bardot illusion neckline and puddle train. I went out looking for a super- simple crepe dress, but the more I tried, the more I discovered that look wasn’t working for me. As soon as I saw my dress hanging up, I knew it was the one. Joe wore an amazing Paul Smith suit in a blue and green check. He accessorised it with the designer’s traditional striped pocket square and opted not to wear a tie in order to feel more casual. We set up a selection of vintage funfair games, including a coconut shy, tin can alley and wire buzz. REAL WEDDINGS 41
