Jemma says, “We shared a love for live indie music and kept bumping into each other on nights out.” We fast forward 11 years and the pair had just returned to their hotel in Iceland, following a disappointing trip to see the Northern Lights. But, sadness soon turned to elation as, much to Jemma’s surprise, Joe got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The beauty of Cissbury Barns was the main attraction for Jemma and Joe when it came to selecting a wedding venue. “There’s plenty of space inside and out, all contained by gorgeous old brick walls and surrounded by fields,” Jemma explains. The clincher though was the fact that the venue is dog friendly, as the couple’s French bulldog, Frank, goes everywhere with them. “He’s our fur baby so he had to be able to participate,” says the bride.
