Katie says, “I thought he was gorgeous and hoped he would approach me, but he didn’t, so I chased him outside!” It was a good job she didn’t let him slip away, as they’ve spent every day together ever since, and the rest, as they say, is history. While Katie knew Sean had the engagement ring, as he’d made her try it on with her eyes closed when he bought it, the exact time and date of the proposal would be a surprise. “I was 100 per cent sure he was going to pop the question during a family holiday to Bulgaria,” Katie reveals. But instead he suggested one day that they go to Nonsuch Park, Surrey, to visit the memorial tree planted for her dad, and it was there that Sean got down on one knee. “I couldn’t breathe! It couldn’t have been any more perfect, at the place that means the most to me. It was definitely a surprise,” Katie remembers. The couple knew they wanted a relaxed wedding with the ceremony and reception held in the same place. Katie tells us, “We considered full DIY options, like empty fields, but that would mean we’d have to get married elsewhere. Then, I found Two Woods, and knew it was the one. The woods are truly magical, we called it a ‘natural cathedral.’” Join us, as the bride reveals more about their Alice-in-Wonderland themed big day… 49 REAL WEDDINGS
