Your Sussex Wedding - April/May 2020 (Issue 84)

We chose Jaegarmeister miniatures for the men’s wedding favours, and Dooley’s Toffee Vodka for the ladies. We bought plastic shot glasses for each and had stickers made that read “we tied the knot now take a shot.” Our main focus for the wedding breakfast was for our guests to relax and enjoy themselves, so we chose small centrepieces that could easily be chatted across. When Kass from Kasserina Cakes came to meet us with tasters, we were absolutely blown away, the flavours were incredible. She only uses natural ingredients and you could tell. They were the best cakes we’ve ever tasted and we booked her straight away. Our big-day bake included a tier each of lemon drizzle, victoria sponge, carrot cake and chocolate fudge. The food was absolutely delicious and our guests are still talking about it to this day. We chose prosecco and canapés following the ceremony, a theme-fitting afternoon tea for the wedding breakfast, and a barbecue in the evening. You can tell I took full advantage as I ended up with barbecue sauce down the front of my dress! We hired a caricaturist to entertain our guests during the drinks reception, he was a fantastic hit and got guests talking. The caricatures served as a great memento of the day, as they were able to take them home. A fantastic magician wowed our friends and family in between the wedding breakfast and evening reception. He was amazing and no one could work out how his tricks were done. He enabled the evening guests to arrive and get involved straight away with no awkwardness. We hired rustic “love” letters, which provided some great photo opportunities, and the white twinkly dancefloor was worth every penny as it was full all night long. REAL WEDDINGS 43 
