Mundialphoto Natural Wedding Photography @mundialphoto INSTAGRAM nick@mundialphoto.co.uk Nick Henley from Mundialphoto describes why your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot while still capturing natural, memorable images If it’s never been mentioned to you as a couple getting married, your day is not a photoshoot and shouldn’t be treated as such. The pressure of achieving magazine-style photos is often at odds with the request of the couple to have natural photos and not be taken away from their guests. So, how do photographers balance these two competing priorities? Preparation, planning and communication with the couple are key. I like to plan a relaxed walk with my couples, chatting about the big day and capturing natural moments along the way, while guiding you through the locations I’ve selected in advance around the venue. Secondly, I try not to plan overly complicated poses or set-ups that feel rigid or unnatural for the flow of the day and that take valuable minutes away from spending time with your guests. Finally, ask one of your bridesmaids or groomsmen to assist. An under-the-veil shot, helping you as you walk, or just being there to assist with the tiny details can help enormously. If you think at any moment you’ve been away from your guests for too long, you probably have! So, in short, have a plan, keep it short, set expectations and above all make it fun! It’s a wedding day, not a photoshoot! Find out more at mundialphoto.co.uk Moments not poses mundialphoto.co.uk mundialphoto.co.uk
