Your Sussex Wedding - June/July 2025 (Issue 115)

We wanted a relaxed feel to our wedding breakfast and for everyone to be happy with what was on their plate, so we opted for an afternoon tea. Guests commented that it was perfect for such a hot day. I wanted a rustic-looking cake with a heart-shaped topper. After looking through hundreds of pictures online, I finally found something. My friend made it look amazing and everyone commented on how lovely it was. When organising the wedding, we wanted to include a sweet treat and came across cocktail ice cream and sorbets. This is when we decided to use cocktails as our table names. We decided on blossom trees for our centrepieces as we wanted to bring the outside in. They really enhanced the beautiful venue and completed the final look for us. Metz grew up in Wales so we had homemade Welsh cakes in the shape of hearts for our wedding favours. We added keys to our place names inspired by the phrase, ‘the key to your heart.’ They were a lovely touch with a vintage feel. I wanted flowers that I could keep beyond our magical day, so my friend did some investigating and found the perfect colour for the bouquets and set to work. They were perfect and because they were silk, I was able to keep them. 37 REAL WEDDINGS
