Your South Wales Wedding - January/February 2021 (Issue 77)

We love castles and knew we wanted to get married in one. We visited Caldicot Castle and instantly fell in love with it and began imagining the photograph opportunities and how much our families would love exploring the grounds. I made a couple of woodland sculptures as props, signs from old pieces of wood and confetti from flowers in our garden. For our reception, we chose The Barn at Brynich. We visited the venue by chance and instantly fell in love with it. It was a blank canvas which was important to us as we wanted to add our own personal touches. The on-site cottages also played a big role as our guests were able to stay for the whole weekend and enjoy the surrounding area. I used artificial hydrangeas, gypsophila, roses and eucalyptus from Artificial Floral Suppliers to create the centerpieces, my bouquet and Dan’s buttonhole. Our theme was inspired by the woods as we both grew up in the countryside and enjoy being outside. For our centrepieces, we used lanterns we found on sale in Asda and Aldi paired with dried flowers, candles and hessian table runners. 28
