Your South Wales Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 75)

How to decorate your wedding venue Styled to perfection W hen it comes to decorating your wedding venue, the options are endless. Whether you want to incorporate your favourite colour, a particular theme or showcase your personalities, there’s a lot you need to take into consideration. To help, we’ve put together a feature focusing on three on-trend themes. ECO-LUXE Sustainably embracing nature. “Rustic and nature- themed weddings are a favourite with brides and grooms at the moment. Eucalyptus and ferns are great options and will work perfectly with your theme.” – Allison Phillips from Allison at The Flower Garden. If you want to be eco- conscious, do your research. Purchase bio-degradable confetti, plan a vegetarian or vegan menu, use public transport where possible and consider sustainable favours. It’s also worth asking your venue what their green policy is and finding out if they recycle or grow their own produce. Add a touch of gold to your tables, flowers and stationery to create a luxurious look. It’s also worth using lots of different flowers in your centrepieces and bouquet but in the same colours. Mixing lower-cost options with more expensive versions like orchids can help reduce the overall price. “Use pot plants instead of cut flowers. Late spring and early summer events can often benefit from the number of quality pot-plants available. At my wedding, I used them for the tables, gave some away to friends and family and kept others for our garden.” – Beth Stretton from Megan & Claude. “Outdoor props such as sofas, benches, carpets and tall lamps can be rented to add an outside feel to your venue.” – Beth from Megan & Claude. www.emberwoodcreative.com an d www.emmahalldesigns.com 63 VENUE STYLING
