Your South Wales Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 75)

We decided to get married in Cardiff and went to view the National Museum. It’s a beautiful building, and when we discussed our proposed date with the events coordinator, they said that Dippy the Dinosaur would be visiting around that time and that sealed the deal. Rob used to visit the Natural History Museum in London to see Dippy with his family, and we both love dinosaurs. Secret Garden Florist designed our flowers around the Arizona sunset. My bouquet was beautiful, and my bridesmaids carried smaller versions. There was even a small posy for the flowergirl who was very taken with it. Rob and his groomsmen wore buttonholes, which matched the colours in Rob’s suit perfectly. The museum didn’t need much dressing as the dinosaur was the main attraction, but we added a few extras. The venue provided uplights and star projectors, these were particularly beautiful and made it look like the night Rob proposed. We had afternoon tea directly after the ceremony, so we decided against a big wedding cake. Instead, we bought a few small bakes from MyLoaf and put these out for our guests to enjoy. Rob and I love collecting Christmas ornaments, so we decided to design a wooden diplodocus with a Santa hat for our favours. They looked amazing, and we love receiving photos of them on people’s Christmas trees. 46
