Your South Wales Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 75)

My dress was from Pritchard & Moore in Cardiff. They specialise in second-hand or end-of-line wedding gowns, and all the proceeds go to Cancer Research UK. I didn’t actually pick my dress. My sister bought it for her wedding before deciding to make her own. I tried it on for my dad who wanted to know what all the fuss was about, and after he passed away, I had it altered to fit. Wearing it and knowing my dad had seen me in it, was a way of remembering him on our special day. The bridesmaids opted for green dresses from Pretty Kitty Fashion. They chose their own shoes and accessories to ensure they were comfortable. I had a horrible cold on the morning of the wedding and one of my bridesmaids, Sarah, had a black eye from a DIY task gone wrong! Loxus Hair & Make-up by Maya Jasinska HMUA did an incredible job on our hair and make-up. I finished my look with a flower crown that my mum made. The wedding ceremony was personal with beautiful piano music played by Hannah from South Wales Pianist. She performed as the guests arrived, and when I entered the room. Our pastor led the ceremony, and our friends played Love Is All You Need by The Beatles during the signing of the register. The groomsmen wore navy suits with green ties. Liam opted for a different version called Murphy, which is our families’ tartan. During the reception, The Bakery played some classic jazz sets with a bit of funk. They played one of our personal choices when we entered and created a fun, relaxing atmosphere. REAL WEDDINGS 29 
