Your South Wales Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 74)

The incredibly talented Rachel from Bella Cakes made our big-day bake. It was four tiers and made up of Victoria sponge, lemon drizzle, chocolate orange, salted caramel and toffee. We met Rachel at a wedding fair and knew after seeing her work and tasting some samples that she was the right choice for our wedding. It looked gorgeous and tasted absolutely delicious! We’d attended so many weddings at The Oxwich Bay Hotel over the years that we knew it was the place for us. Regardless of the weather, the view from the venue was second to none. From our initial meeting right up until our special day, Laura and all of the wedding team were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they accommodated all of our ideas to make our day truly special. Sarah at BloomingBelles Florist was absolutely amazing throughout the whole process. She really is Superwoman! We sadly lost my godfather, Bernard, in 2018 so we had a photo charm of him and my grampa incorporated into my posy. Sarah also made the most amazing flower arch for the ceremony room. It took my breath away, and we’ve received so many compliments about it. Anthony loves doing jigsaw puzzles, as did his late grandfather, Randal, who passed away in 2015, so as favours we had wooden puzzle pieces. Each one said ‘a piece of our special day’ on them. Hollie from HAC Design created all of our gorgeous stationery, including our table plan. It was placed on a large mirror that we acquired from my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding the previous April. Our centrepieces were inspired by Beauty and the Beast. They were silver candelabra placed on round log slices with gypsophila wound around them. 44
