Your South Wales Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 73)

REAL WEDDINGS I chose an Elis gown from Huw Rees. Around six weeks after choosing my dress, I found out I was pregnant! Although we were delighted the panic set in when I realised I’d be seven months pregnant at the time of the wedding and wouldn’t fit into my dress! I was so lucky to have chosen Huw Rees when I explained the situation they put me at ease and assured me they’d find a dress that would fit. When my gown arrived at the shop two months before the wedding, I tried it on and it didn’t zip up. Thanks to the extremely talented staff they managed to fit a corset back, meaning I got to wear my perfect dress after all. I will always be grateful to the girls at Huw Rees. During the day, we had The Polar Berries perform. They were fantastic! They played at the church when we were signing the register and then later at the farm while the guests were having canapés. They even managed to get some of the guests up and dancing in the afternoon. Sam isn’t really one for fashion, so he was dreading suit shopping. Nerys and the team at Chess made kitting out nine men so easy. He loves wearing shorts, and when he told his groomsmen he’d be wearing them on the day, they all rolled their eyes. The bridesmaids opted for dusky pink embellished dresses from SilkFred. In the evening we had Festival Heart keep the guests on the dancefloor. They did a great job and even kept up with various song requests from our friends and family. Our delicious cake was made by our family friend, Llinos. It was exactly how we imagined and looked amazing. It was made up of fruit cake, lemon and carrot cake. 47 
