Your South Wales Wedding - Mar/Apr 2020 (Issue 72)

I make cakes for a living, so the only other person I trusted for the job was Baked By Becks. We’ve since become great friends and are so pleased she attended our wedding. Our colour scheme was burgundy, forest green and gold. We had long table runners and crystal places names that were hand-written by Ellie at Flossie & Blossom. We had a huge hexagon as a backdrop for our photo pod which my dad made and is now available to hire from Flossie & Blossom. Urban Flower Studio created so many displays for us that we placed around the venue, including a massive halo structure that we hung from the ceiling. As we had long tables, we decided to purchase small green bottles for our centrepieces with single flowers in. We didn’t want a traditional wedding reception and wanted somewhere that everyone could stay for the weekend and make a real occasion of it. When we visited Fforest Weddings, we liked how rustic it was and the outdoor space. We loved the idea of not being stuck in the same room all day, and that people could relax by the firepits or in the pub if they wanted, all while being just a short walk from their accommodation. The venue is proud of their food, and they have every right to be. Everyone commented on our incredible barbecued lamb, it was being cooked outside on the barbecue when we all arrived, and everyone could help themselves. My table plan was handmade by my dad. It was a gold frame with mirrors hanging down with handwritten names. 52
