REAL WEDDINGS 41  G rowing up Kimmy and Luke lived three miles apart but only met for the first time 10 years ago. “Luke found me on Facebook,” says Kimmy. “We started messaging and got on really well. Our first meeting was at our local petrol station. Luke had been milking cows and stunk of slurry. Despite the smell, we had a chat, and everything just clicked into place.” The lovebirds got engaged during a holiday to Paris. “I booked the trip on a whim,” Kimmy shares. “I’d organised for us to go to watch Moulin Rouge and have a three-course meal. We arrived outside the theatre, and I was in my element. We sat down ready to eat when Luke calmly turned to me and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said “yes” and we spent the rest of the trip finding the perfect ring.” SETTING THE SCENE “We wanted a relaxed and intimate venue,” says Kimmy. “We fell in love with Llys Meddyg and knew it was the perfect place for us. The décor was stunning, and we really liked the fact we had exclusive use.” The happy couple decided against traditional favours and instead gave their guests jars full of heart-shaped chocolates. “Our table plan and place names were a soft pink that matched our invitations,” explains the bride. “These were made by my friend Gaynor from Owl Tree Designs.” For their flowers, the couple turned to Isobel from Wild Hector. “Our big-day blooms were perfect,” shares Kimmy. “We incorporated them into our centrepieces and placed them in glass jars decorated with sweets and lights.” Kimmy and Luke opted for a small three-tier cake. “It was two flavours,” says Kimmy. “The top and bottom were lemon and the middle was Victoria sponge. It was covered in white chocolate frosting, meringue kisses, macarons and fresh flowers.”
