Your North West Wedding- December 2020/Janaury 2021 (Issue 65)

Malcolm and I provided a box full of blankets, hand sanitiser, cutlery, plates, glasses, fun packs and photo booth props. We bought our picnic from a small local company called Pac Lunches. It was delicious, and all packed separately for each family group with a lovely bottle of bubbly thrown in for the bride and groom. They were wonderful and dealt with our order on the eleventh hour. For our big-day blooms, we went for rustic sunflowers and wildflowers from Greenhouse Flowers Preston. Our guests pulled together to decorate the park and set up a photo booth area, drinks table, balloons, candles and hanging decorations. The idea of a village wedding really appealed to us as we both love the simple things in life. We had booked Bartle Hall in Lancashire as our reception venue but sadly due to COVID-19 and limited guest numbers we had to cancel. We decided to have a socially distanced picnic in the park just across the road from the church with our small wedding party instead. Luckily, the sun came out, just in time, and it was perfect. We made personalised face masks for all our guests to take home as a keepsake from our unusual wedding. After having to re-arrange their wedding three times, Hollie and Malcolmolm finally tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Lancashire Images courtesy of Tiffany LS Photography H ollie and Malcolmolm met at Staffordshire University, and after years of friendship decided to start dating. “Our similar interests and values brought us together,” shares Hollie. “We lived at opposite ends of the country, which made our first few months as a couple quite hard, but we met up as often as possible. Eventually, Malcolm found a job up North, and we moved in together in 2018.” Malcolmolm popped the question during a trip to Wales. “Our birthdays are one day apart, so we went on a special holiday to celebrate,” shares the bride. “On the evening of my 30 th birthday, Malcolm got down on one knee, read a very sentimental poem and asked me to marry him.” Here Hollie shares some of her favourite moments from their big day...
