Your North West Wedding- June/July 2020 (Issue 62)

54 A touch of luxury The metallic trend is here to stay, and whether you choose to include subtle hints into your make-up or go all out, it’s sure to look amazing. If you opt for a strong hue on your eyelids, wear a natural or nude lip. Alternatively, if you want a striking gold lip, then keep your eyes soft otherwise it may be overpowering. Metallic shades work best in the crease line and if done correctly, can be very elegant. Before applying any products always use a cream or primer to ensure it stays in place throughout the day. Blend your eyeshadow and ensure you add liner and lashes to make your eyes pop. Highlighter is a great way of adding definition to your features, but apply it lightly to avoid it looking heavy or futuristic. There are lots of variations available, a rose gold palette can be paired with silver and if you choose copper mix it with bronze. ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD Lisa Veitch from Elisa Belle Bridal tells us how you can incorporate this on-trend colour into your dress. Lisa says: This hue is the epitome of luxury and is so popular right now. There are lots of ways of weaving it into your wedding look, such as fabulous embellished fabrics, metallic threads and hair accessories, the options are endless. Gold often makes an appearance at nuptials, whether it’s in the rings, the cake or the calligraphy it’s closely associated with all things wedding and rightly so. It can be a great alternative to an ivory gown and the warm tones flatter most skin tones and look particularly good against a tan. If you want a traditional dress, then gold threads or bold splashes ooze glamour. Shimmering against the candlelight, this shade will ensure you stand out from the crowd. If you decide to go with an ivory option, you can add a contemporary edge with a tiara or hair vine. GOLD www.savin london.com www.halo andco.com
