Your North West Wedding- June/July 2020 (Issue 62)

For our catering, we opted for a smoked salmon starter, roast beef main and passionfruit dessert. In the evening, we had platters of bacon sandwiches and a sweet table. I had been in contact with Zara from Zara Cakes from the beginning as she’d provided bakes for my brother’s wedding. I sent a few images of designs that I’d liked and asked if we could add a touch of sparkle. I wanted it to look quite classic with a touch of glam. She suggested we use edible glitter and simple sugar flowers which we were really happy with. We opted for a silly table plan with funny pictures of our friends and family. I found the idea on Pinterest, and my bridesmaids helped me put it together. Our favours were handmade chocolate lollies. Half were decorated with small footballs and the others with musical notes. This was a small nod to our passions for sport and musical theatre. I’m from Oldham originally and had heard about The Saddleworth Hotel’s good reputation. The area has stunning views, and we were really happy with our choice. Hayden and I decorated the property with tableware, cloths and candelabra provided by The Saddleworth Hotel. It looked great and added some sparkle to our black and white theme. 26
