Your North West Wedding- April/May 2020 (Issue 61)

Elliott and I wanted wild looking flowers, and when we met with Laura from Greenwheat Flowers & Fika, we loved her rustic style and booked her straight away. Laura did all of the bouquets, buttonholes, milk churns and a basket full of flowers for our vintage bike. For the tables, we visited Cumberland Flower Farm and bought some buckets of mixed wildflowers. We also purchased a hanging Edison bulb chandelier provided by Roseberry Floral Design that looked stunning. After trying on a few dresses in the style I thought I’d originally go for and not really loving them, Allyson from The Harrogate Wedding Lounge pulled a wildcard design. As soon as I tried it on, I instantly loved it, and could tell from the look on my mum and bridesmaid’s face it was the one. It was called Juri by Enzoani and had a beautiful lace bodice with an illusion train and low back. I paired it with a full-length veil, ivory heels and gorgeous earrings from Liberty in Love. Elliott went shopping with the boys and chose navy blue suits from Next. We wanted things to feel laid back, so the groomsmen and bridesman wore trousers, waistcoats, shirts and ties with matching brown brogues. Although we both love cake, we adore cheese too, so we decided to have a grazing board in the evening and a tower of mixed cheese instead of a traditional bake. We found Penrith-based company J&J Graham Penrith. They advised how much we needed and invited us to a tasting session which we loved. The tower was delivered on the morning of the wedding and decorated by our caterers, Bears Pantry, with grapes, figs and ferns. To keep everyone entertained, we created music playlists for certain parts of the day as we wanted each to have a slightly different vibe. We had playlists for welcome drinks, during dinner and then in the evening our friend, Owen, busted out the tunes until the early morning. It’s safe to say the dancefloor was full all night and we loved that our loved ones could play such a big part of our day. Getting ready in the morning with all of my favourite people around me was an amazing feeling. I loved getting chauffeured to the church with my dad by Elliott’s uncle in his golden Jaguar and seeing Elliott as I walked down the aisle. REAL WEDDINGS 25 
