As a mum of two, I work from home and have a studio in my house that brides-to-be can come visit and discuss their ideas. It’s my little happy place to go when the kids are in bed or at nursery. I’m planning to get a shop when they go to school, but I want to enjoy them being young. The designers... I don’t stock designers as my dresses are all handmade. Each one is unique, and no two brides will have the same gown. Time frame... It depends on the style you’ve chosen as some designs take longer to create than others. Get in touch at least six months before the wedding to allow time for fittings etc. Favourite dress... I created a gown called Beatrix that was absolutely stunning. It was designed to flatter the body, with a classic bateau neckline and low cut back. I chose a mermaid style and added an insert into the back of the train, and finished the look with hand-stitched lace at the bottom of the hemline. Top tips... The most important thing is to set a budget and stick to it! Be organised, look on Pinterest and create an inspirational board full of ideas such as your theme and colour scheme. Don’t rush into decisions and only use wedding suppliers who make you feel relaxed and not pressured into booking. Lastly, don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy your special day.
